Bruno Fontana est un artiste dont le travail s'inscrit dans une réflexion sur notre environnement, entre paysages urbains et naturels. À travers ses œuvres, il s'intéresse à la manière dont nous occupons et transformons le territoire, en questionnant notre perception du paysage. Sa pratique repose sur l'observation et l'expérimentation. Il manipule l'image photographique pour en proposer une lecture différente, parfois à la limite entre réel et irréel. En transformant ses images et en leur donnant du volume, il perturbe notre regard et nous pousse à douter de ce que l'on voit. Membre du collectif Art Faber, il porte également une attention particulière au monde du travail et aux enjeux économiques, qui nourrissent sa réflexion artistique. Son travail s'ancre ainsi dans le réel, tout en prenant du recul sur notre époque. Loin de se sentir prisonnier d'un support, l'artiste élargi sa pratique en réalisant des vitraux intégrant des impressions photographiques, prolongeant ainsi ses recherches sur la matérialité de l'image et ses modes de représentation. À travers l'ensemble de son œuvre, Bruno Fontana explore les limites de la photographie et cherche à en révéler toute la richesse, tout en construisant une mémoire du présent et d'un passé proche.
Bruno Fontana is a French artist, currently living and working in Paris.
He is an artist whose work engages with a reflection on our environment, situated between urban and natural landscapes. Through his work, he explores how we inhabit and transform territory, questioning our perception of landscape. His practice is based on observation and experimentation. He manipulates photographic images to offer a different reading, sometimes at the boundary between reality and unreality. By transforming his images and giving them volume, he disrupts our perception and encourages us to question what we see. A member of the collective Art Faber, he also pays close attention to the world of work and economic issues, which inform his artistic approach. His work is thus grounded in reality while maintaining a critical distance from our contemporary moment. Far from feeling confined to a single medium, the artist has expanded his practice by creating stained glass works incorporating photographic prints, thereby extending his research into the materiality of the image and its modes of representation. Through his body of work, Bruno Fontana explores the limits of photography and seeks to reveal its full richness, while constructing a memory of the present and the recent past.
